Gataga

June 12th, 2005

Tagging has nothing to do with search (IMO), but for those that think it does, you may want to take a look at Gataga, which will run searches on four tagging systems. They’re missing a few biggies (Furl, del.irio.us, and maybe Technorati come to mind) and a feed would be nice for the search results, but I digress.

I’m just not convinced that tagging is about search. It’s a collective intelligence tool which deals with information gathering, not querying a database. Two different things which can enhance each other. I’ll be bringing this up next week at CLA for my talk on open tagging systems.
