Can RSS Save Lives?
April 18th, 2005It looks like Steve Rubel and my mom have something in common. In 1982, the New York Presbyterian Medical Center saved his life. Two weeks ago, my mom was in a terrible car accident here in Suffolk County. A truck hit her on the passenger side of her car, shattering her pelvis bone and, it turns out, a few others. She was rushed to a local hospital where they stabilized her and sent her to NYPMC for surgery. She’s resting now in a rehab center near my house and will go home in a few weeks to continue her rehabilitation, which will last for a very long time. If not for side air bags, I would have lost my mom. I’m not ready to lose my mom.
Of very secondary importance, NYPMC has adopted RSS Feeds, along with a bunch of other hospitals. Going back to my mom, she went to NYPMC because they are one of the best hospitals in the New York area for the surgery she needed. RSS in the health field can be very important to the information that doctors and patients receive, which can lead to better health care for everyone. I’ve simplified it a bit, but the power and quickness of RSS could have the potential to save lives.
Thank you NYPMC for saving my mom’s life. (link via Steve Rubel)
