StoryCode

April 11th, 2005

The LIB links to an IAG post about StoryCode.Com a book recommendation system that takes scored book reviews by readers. It’s a very interesting collaborative tool that I wish I knew about last week to show off at TLA (oh well).

Take a look at this impressive tool. They have a help page which explains all about “coding a book” and getting recommendations. Take a look at the codes for Eleanor Rigby. Obviously, the more stories that get coded, the more on target the recommendations will be (well, the algorithm behind the project needs to work well too). As with all social software, the more people involved, the better the tool. As of now, StoryCode is only for fiction books.
