Aggregato - Another ‘Taggregator’

March 25th, 2005

In yet another push towards ‘taggregation’ Aggregato was released to the public today. I took it for a spin and was impressed. A very clean interface. Here’s a screenshot.

One thing to notice is the similarity to Bloglines (in this case, tags = folders). In order for this tagging aggregation system to work, all of the tags should be open to the public in some sort of directory or engine. This way, the “Wisdom of the Crowds” can be revealed. Tags are about collective knowledge. If this can’t be added to the aggregation experience, then Aggregato will be just another web-based aggregator.

‘Taggregators’ can become the next generation of aggregators if done right. By tagging feeds, we are building a new knowledge base that can be tapped into by everyone. Very powerful stuff. (Read more about Aggregato)
