You’re Welcome
March 4th, 2005I’ve been getting an increasing amount of feedback from colleagues who have heard me rant about weblogs and/or RSS at workshops or in an article. Today, Miriam B left a nice comment:
“Thank-you note from a reader, though not originally a blog reader. One day late in January I ran across your article “Eight Steps for Keeping Current” [PDF]; you advocated RSS feeds. Off my map, I thought. The next day I read Karen Schneider’s post to Web4Libraries about how increasingly she is finding her blog to be her primary venue. Oh shoot, I thought, and went off to LII’s page about how to get started at bloglines–where, mind you, I had been more than once before but its time had not come. Ten days later I made the library a blog, and have been feeding it content since February 9th. As of this morning I have the director’s permission to link it to our webpages and generally start trying to attract Santa Fe blog readers. It’s all sort of your doing, and Karen’s. Thanks. I’ve had a lot of fun learning this month.”
Take a look at ICARUS… the Santa Fe Public Library Blog. There is a search box for the library catalog in there, which is a great idea. Plus, I love that many of the posts have links directly to searches in the library catalog. Smart. Good PR. Congrats on the new blog Miriam.
