Help With RSS Question
February 16th, 2005I received this query a few days ago and I’m posting it here for the person who asked.
“We are in the midst of a library web site redesign project and I have the golden opportunity to request that our announcements page have an RSS feed. I know RSS feeds need to be generated from a program on a server but that’s where my knowledge ends. We don’t currently use any blog software or content management system, so the solution has to be free-standing (a Perl script, perhaps).
Can you recommend a good source of information on RSS feed generation code? If you could point me to a person or a site or a list (or a feed!) I’d appreciate it. I’ve been poking around the web a bit but I need some opinions before I recommend a solution to my library.”
