A Presentation About Weblogs….in a Weblog

February 14th, 2005

I’m trying something new for my presentation format. Normally, I would put together Powerpoint, slides but I’m getting bored of that method. Another problem that I was having with Powerpoint was the constant shifting back and forth between screens.

While taking a shower the other day (my best ideas come while in the shower - I need to be able to blog in there), a possible solution hit me. Why not present in weblog format?

Tomorrow, I will be speaking to a small group at the Yale Medical Library about weblogs and RSS and just finished getting the blog/presentation together. I have a very good feeling about this new method of presenting. It brings the topic right up front on the screen, it’s easy to print out if needed, I don’t have to navigate that far away from my on-screen presentation, and users don’t have to download huge files. Plus, I can add to the blog on the fly.

I’ll let you know how it goes.
