More Library RSS Feeds

January 22nd, 2005

Peter Scott reports on two libraries that are utilizing RSS in special ways.

1) The Charles Darwin University Library is testing out two feeds.. A new titles feed, which seems be a bit lagging (it was last updated on December 17) and an “Items Out” feed which seems to update everytime you check out an item. This one needs to be personalized by the library user. I’m asusming that the new titles feed is updated manually, which could be a time problem. This is one of the reasons why this type of feed should be automatically created by the cataloging system.

2) The Cotsen Children’s Library at Princeton University has 3 feeds: News, Gallery, and Workshops. Wonderful.
