I received the signed contract in the mail today, so the sponsorship is now official. Starting next week (we hope), Library Stuff will be sponsored and published by Information Today, Inc. Over the course of 3 years, I have formed a productive relationship with ITI (mainly speaking at their conferences, but also writing articles for their magazines) and this sponsorship is no different. I am thrilled to be part of the ITI family.
I’m also excited to get paid to blog. With that in mind, there will be some changes to the layout of the site. The typical ITI framed banner will appear and the LS feed (still the same URL – no need to adjust your aggregator) will not be available in full-text. I had changed this a month ago to test the waters and only received one complaint. The switch to summary feeds was my choice, not that of ITI. The reasons are obvious.
For those wondering about content, that will not change in the slightest. I have full control over my content and would not have signed on the dotted line if this wasn’t the case.
Well, that’s about it. There may be some downtime over the next few weeks as we work out the DNS switches. If there are no surprises, we’ll be able to make a painless transfer.
Thank you to Dick Kaser and Thomas Hogan Sr for making the negotiations simple and for believing in blogs. Thanks also to Bill Spence, who will be helping me move over all of my archives and setting up the blog at ITI.
And thanks again, for your continuous clicks.
