Say What Walt?
December 23rd, 2004Walt Crawford casually throws a humdinger into a post on his personal blog:
“By the way…the first issue of Cites & Insights volume 5, and the first sponsored by YBP Library Services, is now in the works. I’d guess it will appear on Sunday. Given list outages next week, it may not be publicized quite as widely as usual.”
“And I’ll start publicizing the call for conference/program reporters starting January 3, as widely as I possibly can!”
I did a double-double take after reading both posts. Thus, I looked at each sentence twice. First of all, I’m thrilled that Walt will be working with librarians to report on ALA Midwinter in Boston. Of course, I’ll be linking to the reports on the PLA Blog when they are released. I must admit, I failed to look at the December issue of C&I, so I missed his article on the topic. On a related note, I can’t wait to meet Walt in Boston. This meeting will be a long time coming.
Second, congrats go out to Walt for his sponsorship. One of the big news that I have for 2005 is that Library Stuff will also have a sponsor. I can’t release the name of the company, but I received an e-mail this afternoon that the deal has been finalized and I am absolutely thrilled.
So, here’s to hard work, sponsorship, and what will probably be the most widely reported on national library conference ever.
