The library weblog dedicated to resources for keeping current and professional development

QuackTrack

December 7th, 2004

QuackTrack touts itself as the “The world’s largest browseable blog index - 330,000 links to 85,000 blogs in a thousand categories”. (I’m not exatly sure what that means). The text on the left hand side seems to indicate that the people from Blogshares are running this index. The cetagories are well attended too. When the categories are accessed, the weblogs are displayed by incoming links, with the “most popular” at the top. There are about 200 weblogs listed in the category for libraries.

The search engine works well. Performing a search for librarian pulls up many librarian blogs that I haven’t seen before (and would make a great additions to LISBlogsource), but many of the entires are repeated. A future implementation might be to create new additions to specific categories in RSS format. (link via del.icio.us)
