Factiva jumps on the RSS Apple Picking Wagon
October 25th, 2004Gary just IM’d me with the great news. From the Factiva press release:
“Targeting the U.S. government sector, this free RSS feed will continuously update the campaign issues being reported, enabling users to view a three-paned window that allows them to quickly scan campaign issue headlines. If they see an update or issue that interests them, they can easily click on the link to read the entire story.
“Based on the success of our Republican and Democratic Daily Convention Briefs from last summer, customers have asked that we continue to report and distribute coverage of this important topic,” said Tony Hall, director of Government Solutions at Factiva. “The use of RSS enables our customers and prospects to quickly and easily incorporate a Web feed into their existing RSS readers.”
The Factiva RSS Feed is a more efficient way to uncover the 2004 Presidential campaign issues and will appeal to users dealing with harassing pop-up windows and masses of spam. The RSS Feed is just a small sampling of world-class election coverage that Factiva can provide through its award-winning products and services. “
Yes!! While they are at it, why not provide customized feeds via their search interace for their customers? Factiva had been in the “Current Awareness” business for a long time and can be a leader in customization of content via RSS. Onward ho!
