Podcasting in the library
October 12th, 2004OK, I sound like a dork, but my thoughts on Podcasting in libraries appear on a 30 minute audio segment from Chris Pirillo. I probably should have waited at least an hour to write down my thoughts before calling the number, but thus is life.
My segment starts at the 15:20 mark and goes for 5 or so minutes. Most of it is rambling, but my basic thoughts are there…somewhere.
The day after I did this phone call-in, I chatted with Jenny and, of course, she had some great ideas. She mentioned that podcasting would work great for archived digital audio collections. The one example that I came up with is the Shoah project, where Spielberg is recording as many voices as possible from Holocaust survivors. Any new interviews can be sent via RSS to the I-Pod.
Any other thoughts about how we can use I-Podding in the library profession? Maybe we can have our own audio session…
