Competing in high gear
July 4th, 2004I spent an hour on the phone with a journalist from Newsday a few weeks ago. She was interviewing librarians about our profession and wanted to go at it from two angles: The veteran librarian and the newly degreed librarian. I told her about what I do at my firm and the importance of keeping current and professional development in our field.
The article came out today and I’m pleased with it. Very pleased. She nailed it. Every quote was on point and put in its proper context. The other article on the veteran librarian (Mary K. Conwell of NYPL) was also well done. Great job Jaqueline. Thank you for taking the time to not only speak with me, but to get to know and understand librarianship as the fun and exciting profession that I love.
