More Library RSS Stuff

April 15th, 2004

1) Straight out of my comments, David King, whom I saw speak at Computers in Libraries, mentions:

My library website’s redesign, planned to be released mid-June, includes rss feeds - 48 of em, to be exact. We’ve redone our subject-oriented web links pages, and turned them into “one-stop-shopping” topic guides. There, you’ll be able to find new books, other library materials, databases, library events, and even metro-area events and news… all focused on that single topic. And - each of those pages will have an rss feed. We’re pretty excited about it!”

And well you should be David!!! I remember Jenny asking him about releasing RSS Feeds of his topical pages to the public and his reply was, “Not yet”. I’m glad he has decided to go ahead and do it. (Oh Jenny, this is so exciting, get back online soon!!!)

2) David Bigwood says:

“check out our new materials list. I also have an RSS feed, but only provide headlines, not full text.”

Thanks for sharing, gentleman. Hey, Amanda, how about a section about libraries with RSS embedded in their catalogs?
