Amazon Offers Many RSS Feeds

March 3rd, 2004

Dave points out tonight that Amazon is offering numerous RSS Feeds. I am only going to do a half-hearted “Hip Hip Hooray” on this news because I believe that Amazon should be providing more personalized options. For example, I would love a feed for any new books by my beloved Joyce Carol Oates. Plus, I want them sorted by date. This is probably not that hard to accomplish, and would make me use this service more. Actually, if this is your preference as well, I would use On Focus, which I’ve been using since July. You can use keywords and sort the results by date (this takes a bit of easy hacking on your part), as well as many other features. Plus, the resulting URL comes from Amazon, not a third party, which is preferable.
