Reading LII New This Week with RSS
January 19th, 2004I hate to have too much cross-posting, but I haven’t seen this on other library weblogs yet. Karen Schneider and crew over at LII have started an “official” RSS Feed. This deserves both a Hip Hip Hooray and a Suhweeeeeeet!. They also put together a nice tutorial on RSS using Bloglines.
Karen and I chatted about this on Saturday night (yes, we have no life) and I’ve been bursting at the seams in anticipation of its arrival. For those of you that say, “LII has had a feed for months”, I reply, “Yes they have”, but it wasn’t an ‘official’ feed directly from the source. Take Library Journal: the guy over at NewsIsFree has created feeds for their pages, but it’s not one directly from LJ. If they did it themselves, they would have complete control over their content syndication (plus get more library professionals interested in RSS).
