Mailbucket/Bloglines – Be careful

Regarding services like Mailbucket that incorporate e-mail into RSS, Greg, over at Blogdigger writes:
“What you thought were private emails consumed by your personal RSS news aggregator are really viewable by others.”
Excellent point, and one that I took seriously when I started to use these types of services. I know that the major search engines do not index these feeds (I check every week or so). Feedster at one point started to grab my Mailbucket feed and I sent a note to Scott asking him to delete it from the database, and he did. It hasn’t shown up since. Good. The benefits definitely outweigh the problems with these tools and I always suggest to users to give them a shot.
